New hat

I found the free pattern for this hat here. I am just loving the crochet lately. I made the hat in this picture and I also made an identical one in a blueish green color. It is just waiting for a button then I can wear both hats. I seriously wear this hat all the time. Mostly because I never do my hair, but still, I like it.

I am going to start crocheting little baby boy hats here pretty soon. I have started working on the last 5 jumpers for the lady I am making them for. So hopefully I will have those done this week and then I am FREEE. hehe. just kidding. But I will be happy to have those all done.

Of course, Sadie wanted to get in on the picture too. How could I resist that face?

Crochet!!!

I have spent a lot of time crafting this past month for Christmas gifts and everything, but I guess I haven't taken pictures of everything that I've made yet because I only have like 3 pictures. I'll need to finish taking pictures tonight so I can finally get caught up on this blog. I'm always so impressed with the bloggers that I follow because they all have kids and seem to post almost everyday with a new thing they have made. I am definitely not like that. Anyway, here are some of the things I made for Christmas gifts this year.

Here are some cute magnets that I made for some of my family members. I just think they are so cute and I see a lot more of these in my future. This is the set that I gave to my mom i think.

This is a picture of all of the magnets I made on my fridge. I fell in love with them and ended up keeping a lot of them for myself. he he.

I crocheted some bracelets for a couple of my friends. I just love these simple bracelets and have them in lots of different colors.

These are little flower "face scrubbie" things. I guess they are supposed to be like little face washcloths that you can use over and over again. I just thought they were really cute flowers and i might use them to decorate my bathroom someday.

I have recently picked up my yarn and crochet hooks and made lots of things. I was into sewing for a while and now I am back into crocheting. It is easier for me to get out and put away quickly since I don't have a craft room. I love it. There are so many great patterns for free on Ravalry and on ETSY. I love it. Anyway, maybe for my birthday my husband can buy me a pattern that i have wanted for about a year now on Sylver's Etsy site. I have had my eye on this pattern for a while and now that I am having a baby boy in April, I am in love with this one. Anyway...my husband never reads this blog, so maybe I will have to just buy them myself. :)

Mr. Potato Head

I saw this post over at Make It and Love It (one of my favorite blogs) and knew I had to make one for Sadie for Christmas. I hadn't had much experience working with felt and let me tell you, I didn't really enjoy it. It was so hard for me to cut it straight, to sew it together and make it look nice. I think it would have been easier for me to just use regualr material, but it was good experience for me to work with felt since I want to eventually make some felt food things for Sadie to play with.

Anyway, here is how mine turned out...it didn't turn out nearly as cute as her's did, but I am happy with it and I think Sadie will enjoy it too! But don't tell her...it's for Christmas!

I still need to make arms for it...who knows if I will get that done before Christmas or not!

Here are some of the other things I made for my potato head dude.

I will probably try to make another one sometime since I have more than enough felt left over...

I have lots of other things that I have been working on that I need to post about, but I can't because they are Christmas presents. Maybe after Christmas I will show you all what I made.

Baby shower gifts

My old roommate Lindsay is having a baby and was in town from Denver this past weekend. While she was here, she had a baby shower. It was so great to see her and I just am so excited for her and her husband. They are going to be such great parents! Here is what I made for her little one.

I used freezer paper stencils on the onesies and I crocheted the flowers for the hair clips. The only problem with making things for people is that I always want to keep them for myself! :)

Hairclips. You bet I will be making exact replicas of all of these for Sadie!

I got the template for these little birds at the Martha Stewart website. There were lots of animals to choose from.

This was also from the Martha Stewart website. Next time I will go over it 3 or 4 times so that the paint is even. There are a few spots that are kinda splotchy. Oh well.

Big News

We had some news to share with friends and family so I decided to make a shirt for Sadie to share it in a fun way.

I started out with a plain white t-shirt that I got at DI. Since I got it at a thrift store, it wasn't exactly stain free. So I mixed some fabric paint and water and put it in a spray bottle to "die" the shirt before I used a freezer paper stencil to write the message that I wanted on the shirt.

I think it turned out really cute and she still wears it a lot...mostly because she doesn't have many long sleeve shirts and it is getting cold. And yes...I am expecting! We are so excited to have another little one running around our little house. I'm about 18 weeks along and we can't wait to find out what we are having!

Baby gifts long overdue!

While I was in the middle of sewing all of those jumpers from the last post, I realized that 2 of the babies that I still owed baby gifts to were getting older. They were already 2 and 3 months old, so I needed to start on something quick. I took a couple nights to make these super cute skirts from MADE. I just love how they turned out and I wish I had three little girls to wear them. :) But I don't, so I kept one for my little girl, and gave (still in the process of giving) them to the little girls I made them for!

I will definitely be making more of these skirts as my little one grows up!

And this one is for my friend Katie. She is so creative and has made lots of cool things so go over and check out her blog. Surprise Katie...now we just need to meet up so I can get it to your adorable girl!

Whew!

I finished 6 of the jumpers and finally have all of the cotton fabric ones done! Woo hooo. That was a lot of sewing. I still have about 5 more to do out of courderoy but I think I will take a short break before starting on those ones because I have some things that I have needed to make for a long time. Also, Christmas is fast approaching and I have lots to make!
