Skirt

I made this skirt for a friend of mine. I really like it. I want one for me. Maybe I will make one. I've got some other things to do first though. I am really looking forward to going home for Christmas because I love being around my family and stuff. But also, because my mom has this awesome craft room that I am hoping to spend some time in while I am there. :) Maybe I will make myself a skirt or two for Christmas??? Sounds good to me!

Christmas Shirts

I made some more 90 minute shirts. They are so fun and easy to make. This time I made them in Christmas colors. I made one for my son and one for my friend's son who is two weeks younger than my son. I can't wait to see them both wearing their Christmas shirts together!

Here is my little guy in his shirt. I think I actually might make him a green one too...because that one is cute too! :)

The Sadie Shirt!

So I loved making this shirt for two reasons. It is really cute and I love reading the blog that I got the tutorial from, and because my daughter's name is also Sadie. Awesome. Anyway, the moment that I saw that there was going to be a sew along for this shirt, I knew I had to make one. So I did. And it was super easy following the awesome tutorial on Craftiness is Not Optional. Here is the shirt that I made:

I am trying to use up my piles of fabric before I buy new stuff, so it was hard for me to choose which fabric to use. But I really love how this one turned out.

You should all go and sew a Sadie shirt for the little girls in your life! You won't be disappointed!

Zac's new hat

My sister in law made a hat like this for her cute little boy. I fell in love with it so she told me she made it and let me borrow one that she had made so I could make one too.

It turned out pretty good I think. That is after I had to undo a huge mistake that I made. I sewed the bottom flap on wrong so the ear flaps were sticking out the sides of the hat. It was pretty funny. It seems I can never finish a project without making one big blunder like that. My seam ripper is very well used.

And I think Zac likes his new hat too.

And this is my favorite picture. Zac loves to suck on his bottom lip which makes his cheeks look even bigger! :)

Working

I've been working on a lot of stuff lately. I realized that I don't make things because my kids need clothes or a new hat, though that is sometimes why I sew. But mostly I just enjoy seeing a finished project. It makes me feel like I accomplished something. :)

Anyway...here are some of the things I have been busy with.

This was Sadie's last minute "Princess Green" Halloween costume. I think it turned out pretty cute. Of course we had to spray paint some shoes to match!

I made this hat along with about 3 others. One for Sadie and a few for me. :) I haven't gotten around to taking pictures of the other ones yet though.

Here is another 90 minute shirt. This time I tried long sleeves. They turned out to be perfect length.

And here are my two little ones playing with their trains together while wearing their new clothes. Sadie's dress is a Warhol Dress. I got a shirt at Walmart the other day for one dollar. I liked the bright color so I made it into this dress for Sadie.

I did it!

I finally made one! I don't know how long ago I saw the tutorial for a 90 minute shirt on Made, but I finally made one today! And it turned out really cute. There will definitely be more of these to come in the future! Maybe I will try one for Sadie next...

Here it is in action. Sorry it is so blurry...it is hard to get my 6 month old to sit still for pictures!

That's a little better. Doesn't he look cute in it!

I love being able to use old shirts to make them into new things.
