Rag Quilt Letters

I can finally cross this project off of my list! Sheesh. I saw it so long ago over here and I knew immediately that I wanted to make some for Sadie. She was too young then to start learning her letters, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to start early. Well, then I didn't make them for months and months.

Then a few months ago, Sadie started becoming really interested in letters and teaching herself really what they were. Ok, so I helped, but seriously isn't it amazing how fast kids learn. I was so surprised at how fast she picked up on her letters that I figured I should finally start this project. The real motivation came when Rob told me he wanted to get one of those paper alphabet banner things that you see in a lot of classrooms to put up in our living room so we could teach her that way. I didn't really want that in my living room, so I decided I would make these and hang them up in some sort of cute way. I haven't actually hung them up yet, but hopefully this week.

I actually made this set of upper case letters and a set of lower case letters so that she could learn both. Right now, we are working on upper case, but later we will move on to the lower case alphabet.

She really wanted to be in the pictures as I was taking them. So here she is. Hamming it up for the camera.

What a cutie!
