Oh...and can I just say

I have the best husband ever! When I figured out that I had sewn 8 of the 9 snaps on backwards on the apple page of Sadie's quiet book, he was like "what can I do? How can I help?" (I was pretty upset. Really, I was about to throw the whole page away.) So I jokingly told him he could sew on the rest of the snaps onto the tree because I was done for the night. So he actually sewed one on! It was awesome. I love him!

And it is the best one on the whole page!!! :)

Big Puzzle Blocks

Here is another one of Sadie's birthday gifts that I made for her. I got the idea for these in a parenting magazine of some sort. Of course, they were really expensive and a lot cuter, but I think mine turned out ok. Except for the fact that I couldn't get them to look like actual cubes. The just look like blobs. Oh well. Does anyone know how to make fabric blocks that actually look like blocks? :) Next time I think I will just put foam inside instead of stuffing them.

Quiet Book- Finally done

I have been wanting to make one of these for the longest time for Sadie. I started it while I was in Arizona for Christmas vacation, but I was working on it frantically to get it finished all the way up to the day of Sadie's birthday. I finished it during her nap that day. Sheesh. It took a lot of time, and now I don't really want her to play with it much because I don't want to ever have to make another one. :) Just kidding. She has loved playing with it so far. I try to keep it hidden during the week so that it will be a novelty on Sundays during church.

Anyway here are some places that I got my page ideas from. I pretty much just copied a bunch of different pages that I saw other people had made.

So a big THANK YOU to all of those who shared their quiet book pages on their blogs so that I could make mine! :) Now onto the pages.

Zipper lady bug. Sadie loves to count the black circles.

Oven/ cupcake page. I like this page, usually there is a fork and a spoon in the purple pocket. Sadie loves to play with this one.

Car page. I wish I could have made the road a little more exciting. Maybe I will draw some trees on there or something. ran out of time.

This is probably my favorite page. I think I found it on the crafting chicks link above. Sadie loves the finger puppets, so maybe I will make some more!

Pick the apples. I hated making this page. It was really simple until I had to sew the tiny snaps onto the apples. I had 8 of the 9 snaps sewn onto the apples when I realized that I had sewn them on upside down! AHHHH. So annoying. So I had to walk away from it for the night and finish it the next day. Now that I think about it, it is pretty funny. Not so much at the time.

Flowers and shapes page. Fun.

Eventually I may make some new pages and swap them out. It will be a while though. Sadie seems satisfied with what is in the book now. So I will just let her enjoy it and enjoy the peace and quiet at church! :)

First one down!

Remember all those old t-shirts from my last post? Well, my first (and second) projects are done! I only took a picture of one of them so far so I will post the others later. Anyway, here is a cute little skirt that was super quick and easy to make! And I think it looks so cute on my little girl!

Yes, it is snowing outside today, but we are totally ready for spring and summer when it comes. Maybe I will make a pair of leggings that she can wear under the skirt so she can wear it now. Well, she does wear it now, but only inside.

And, I got three pages of my quiet book done today during her nap. Hooray! I am loving this 2 hour nap thing!

Finished projects and starting new ones

I have been finishing projects left and right because I feel so free now that I finished all of the jumpers for a lady in my ward. I don't feel guilty working on other projects because I know that I have them all done! IT is so nice. Anyway, Here are some of the crochet projects I have finished up.

I finally decided that with only about 3 months left, I better get started on making some little goodies for my little guy. Here is a little sweater that I made that is just waiting to get some buttons sewn on. I think it turned out really cute.

Then I brought out this project that has been sitting around for about a month like this and finished it in about 15 minutes. Seriously, why do I wait so long to finish these easy little projects? I don't know.

This is what it looks like now. With a little matching flower for a hair clip.

I made all of these hearts while my little girl was sick this week. We did a lot of sitting on the couch so I brought out my yarn and made lots of hearts. I saw these on a this blog and fell in love with all of her free patterns. But I decided this was a good one to make since valentines day is coming up and everything.

So I made this little one to hang up in our bathroom or somewhere and I also made on that I draped along our mantle. I will have to take a picture of that one later.

I also started these other projects that will keep me busy for a while. I have been meaning to make these things for such a long time and i finally started them and am so excited about them.

This is going to end up in a quiet book for my daughter. Her birthday is next month so hopefully I can finish it by then. I'm hoping it will keep her busy and quiet during church! I will also post where I got all of my page templates from after I finish the book.

I went through my closet and found all of these shirts that I don't wear anymore or that were given to me by my mom and brother. There are like 20 of them in all. Some I will make into clothes for my daughter but most I think will be pants and shorts for our little guy coming in April. I'm excited about this project too because sewing stuff from old t-shirts is easy and something that can be picked up and finished really quickly.

So that is what I have been up to this past week. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

New hat

I found the free pattern for this hat here. I am just loving the crochet lately. I made the hat in this picture and I also made an identical one in a blueish green color. It is just waiting for a button then I can wear both hats. I seriously wear this hat all the time. Mostly because I never do my hair, but still, I like it.

I am going to start crocheting little baby boy hats here pretty soon. I have started working on the last 5 jumpers for the lady I am making them for. So hopefully I will have those done this week and then I am FREEE. hehe. just kidding. But I will be happy to have those all done.

Of course, Sadie wanted to get in on the picture too. How could I resist that face?

Crochet!!!

I have spent a lot of time crafting this past month for Christmas gifts and everything, but I guess I haven't taken pictures of everything that I've made yet because I only have like 3 pictures. I'll need to finish taking pictures tonight so I can finally get caught up on this blog. I'm always so impressed with the bloggers that I follow because they all have kids and seem to post almost everyday with a new thing they have made. I am definitely not like that. Anyway, here are some of the things I made for Christmas gifts this year.

Here are some cute magnets that I made for some of my family members. I just think they are so cute and I see a lot more of these in my future. This is the set that I gave to my mom i think.

This is a picture of all of the magnets I made on my fridge. I fell in love with them and ended up keeping a lot of them for myself. he he.

I crocheted some bracelets for a couple of my friends. I just love these simple bracelets and have them in lots of different colors.

These are little flower "face scrubbie" things. I guess they are supposed to be like little face washcloths that you can use over and over again. I just thought they were really cute flowers and i might use them to decorate my bathroom someday.

I have recently picked up my yarn and crochet hooks and made lots of things. I was into sewing for a while and now I am back into crocheting. It is easier for me to get out and put away quickly since I don't have a craft room. I love it. There are so many great patterns for free on Ravalry and on ETSY. I love it. Anyway, maybe for my birthday my husband can buy me a pattern that i have wanted for about a year now on Sylver's Etsy site. I have had my eye on this pattern for a while and now that I am having a baby boy in April, I am in love with this one. Anyway...my husband never reads this blog, so maybe I will have to just buy them myself. :)
